IKEA U.S. president, Lars Petersson announced the promotion of Green Sykes, who previously held the role as CMO of IKEA U.S. and deputy store manager at an IKEA in Philadelphia. “We are very excited about opening a Jacksonville IKEA store, where there are many IKEA customers as well as others who may not know us yet, but are anxious for us to open,”Petersson said. “Leontyne’s experience at IKEA as a customer-focused leader – combined with her brand marketing background – make her the ideal choice to lead the future IKEA Jacksonville.”
Leontyne is relocating from Philadelphia, PA, where she worked as a manager at the Conshohocken location, one of two IKEA locations in the Philly area. Green Sykes is originally from Columbia, South Carolina. Her new store in Jacksonville is nearly twice the size of her old store, which has a much smaller footprint of just 152,000 square feet. Green Sykes is excited for the new opportunity. “IKEA recognizes the customer base that exists in North Florida, so I am pleased about providing the 110,000 customers who currently are shopping at IKEA – as well as future new customers – with a store of their own,” said Green Sykes. “At the same time, I am excited about growing the IKEA culture among new coworkers in the Jacksonville area.” IKEA Jacksonville is scheduled to open Fall 2017. However, Assembly Smart is already providing IKEA assembly in Jacksonville for customers who order furniture online or travel to the current closest store in Orlando. When the store opens, Assembly Smart will also provide IKEA delivery & returns. |
